In honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month two wonderful San Franciscans, Orli and Brianna, started Swap for Good, a grassroots non-profit project. The whole idea of the project is to host a clothing swap that doubles as a fundraiser for your local domestic abuse shelter.
Genius. But this is where it gets really fun - I’m hosting one on Saturday, November 27th!
I have piles of perfectly beautiful clothing that I’ll never wear and I’m sure you do too - let’s trade! I’ve been meaning to clean out my dressers (yes multiple) and closet for ages and I can’t imagine a better motivator than to host a clothing swap/fundraiser for a local domestic abuse shelter. Plus I’m sure my husband (I love saying that) will be thrilled to be able to actually walk into the closet… Bring your clothes, bring your friends (the more the merrier) and bring $1, $2, $5, $20 (or any amount!) to donate to Harbor Communities Overcoming Violence. There will be snacks and drinks and, of course, a new wardrobe with your name on it ;)
Don’t have clothes you can bare to part with? No problem, bring housewares, books, board games, gadgets, kids toys or any other unneeded goods you’d love to swap - or just come for the party!
If you’re in/near Boston send me your email and I’ll send you the invite! For more information or if you’d like to host your own just click here.
